Update:

NBA star Zion Williamson has been accused of rape and physical abuse by a woman who says she’s his ex-girlfriend, according to a Los Angeles legal filing obtained by the Daily Mail.

The woman, referred to as Jane Doe, alleges a pattern of “abusive, controlling, and threatening behavior” by the New Orleans Pelicans player.

“Our client looks forward to her day in court”

“We and our client do not want to litigate this case in the press,” said Doe’s attorney, Sam Taylor, per the Mail. “However, I will say this is a very serious case as reflected in the Complaint filed in Los Angeles County.

"Our client looks forward to her day in court before a jury of her peers to obtain justice in this matter.”

The allegations against Williamson

According to the lawsuit, Williamson and Doe began dating in 2018, while he was still a college-basketball player at Duke University. The relationship continued until mid-2023, by which point the power forward was playing in the NBA for the Pelicans.

During this period, Doe claims that Williamson physically and sexually abused her, exerting emotional and financial pressure over her as well. In some instances, he allegedly choked her, causing Doe to fear for her life.

The plaintiff alleges that Zion raped her twice after he moved to Beverly Hills in the fall of 2020.

She says the first incident occurred late one evening, when he allegedly forced her to have sex against her will by pinning her down on a bed with her hands behind her back.

The second rape is alleged to have taken place a month later, when Doe informed him she was going to San Diego to visit a friend. Per the filing obtained by the Mail, Zion forbade her from going, threw objects at her and then raped her.

Afterwards, Williamson is said to have taken her phone and computer to prevent her from reporting the alleged assault or seeking medical attention.
