JuJu Watkins wins prestigious award to top off spectacular year with USC
At the Tommy Awards this weekend, USC Trojans star JuJu Watkins added to her long list of accolades with one more prestigious honor.

JuJu Watkins is coming off of an incredible sophomore season playing for the USC Trojans. The 19-year-old averaged 23.9 points per game, improved her field goal percentage to 42.6%, and her three-point percentage t to 32.5% before tearing her ACL during the March Madness tournament.
JuJu Watkins: Female Athlete of the Year
Watkins is one of the best players in college basketball right now, and she’s got the awards list to prove it, adding one more to the list this weekend.
She recently won the 2025 Don Staley Award, which honors the best point guard in NCAA Women’s basketball, as well as the John R. Wooden Award, the AP Player of the Year, the Big Ten Player of the Year, and the Naismith College Player of the Year.
So it should come as no big surprise that during the Tommy Awards - an annual awards ceremony honoring the school’s top athletes - Watkins was given the award for Female Athlete of the Year.

Watkins will return to USC next year, although her injury will likely keep her on the sidelines for the season. She has plenty of time to recover before she heads to the professional league, however, as Watkins won’t be eligible for the WNBA until 2027.
