The money being made at the College Football Playoffs is, as you might expect, an extraordinary amount.

The money made during the College Football Playoffs is always a huge money-spinner, with lots of teams making lots of money in one of the standout calendar events of the year on the US calendar.

We’ve had plenty of action in the games leading up to the all-important final, and now Ohio State will take on Notre Dame (Jan 20, 7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT.) in a game that is sure to entertain from the first whistle to the last.

Payouts for 2024-25 College Football Playoffs

The figures change every year, with ten teams taking home $7.87 million each last year. Below we’ve listed the current layout of the figures for the successful sides in the CFP:

How much money teams make from the College Football Playoffs:

  • $4 million for each of the 12 teams that makes the College Football Playoff
  • $4 million for each of the 8 teams that makes the College Football Playoff Quarterfinals
  • $6 million for each of the 4 teams that makes the College Football Playoff Semifinals
  • $6 million for each of the 2 teams that makes the College Football Playoff National Championship Game
  • Each team who participates in the College Football Playoff also receives $3 million to cover expenses for each round

As well as the aforementioned dollars, each conference will also pocket $300,000 for each of its schools whose football team meets the NCAA’s APR for participation in a postseason football game.

What time does Ohio State vs Notre Dame start?

The College Football Playoff National Championship Game between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish will be played on Monday January 20, 2025, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT.
