What are the stickers on the Ohio State helmets?
Following their win over Texas Longhorns in the Cotton Bowl final on January 10, Ohio State face Notre Dame in the CFP final.

Atlanta, Georgia will be the epicentre of college football on Monday night with more than 79,000 fans expected at Mercedes-Benz Stadium as Ohio State face Notre Dame in the 2025 College Football National Championship final.
Neither team were tipped to make it all the way ahead of the championship as the eighth-seeded Buckeyes, who bagged the Cotton Bowl with a 28-14 victory over Texas face No.7 seeds the Fighting Irish who won, in a tighter contest, beating Penn State 28-24 in the Orange Bowl staged in Florida.
With both colleges boasting a rich football heritage, it’s no surprise that demand for tickets has rocketed with all initial tickets sold out as fans now resort to the secondary market.
The Buckeyes are heavily tipped to prevail as they look to claim their ninth national championship.
Ohio State helmet stickers
Eagle eyed college football fans may have noticed in recent Buckeyes

games that the player’s helmets are adorned with a series of stickers.
According to a series of outlets, Ohio State started the tradition in 1968 as Ernie Biggs, then a member of the Buckeyes training staff, thought that they would serve as a motivational vehicle for the players at the time. The stickers feature small white circles with a buckeye leaf on them.
The idea is that as the season advances, the more wins for the team equates to more stickers per participating player with bonus stickers being awarded for beating a Big Ten opponent, with a win over arch rivals Michigan Wolverines resulting in three stickers.
