Update:

The 2025 NCAA men’s basketball championship game is about to kick off as the No. 1 teams, Florida Gators and Houston Cougars, fight for the title this year. But before the game gets going at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, we’ll be treated to the singing of the national anthem of the United States of America.

The singer of the 2025 national anthem at the NCAA Championship

On April 5, during the men’s Final Four, student athletes from each school sang the national anthem. Representing Florida was AC Fitzpatrick, former Gators volleyball player. Representing Houston was swimmer and diver Jenna Kerkman. The two of them, singing alongside the voices from Auburn and Duke, captivated audiences with their talent, creativity, and personality.

Tonight’s singer was local singer songwriter and retired Air Force master sergeant Robert Carter, who sang a beautiful solo performance at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

Last year, at the 2024 NCAA Championship game, Arizona State University graduate Kahara Hodges sang the national anthem. Hodges has a deep connection to Native American culture and performed in front of 74,000 people, backed up by the Tohono O’odham Nation’s Color Guard and with 22 tribal nations’ flags helping to represent culture and tradition. That performance set the bar, and Carter gave it a run for its money based on talent alone!
