The locations for Super Bowls LVIII (Las Vegas), LIX (New Orleans), and LX (San Francisco) were already known, and now we have the venue for Super Bowl LXI agreed. The game in February 2027 will be played at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, after the approval of owners on Wednesday during the December League Meeting.

SoFi Stadium to host Super Bowl LXI

“We are very excited to bring the Super Bowl back to Los Angeles for the second time in five years. The city did an outstanding job hosting Super Bowl 56 in the incredible SoFi Stadium and we believe that Super Bowl 61 will be even more memorable,” Roger Goodell said in a statement.

“The Los Angeles Rams, the Los Angeles Host Committee and many other outstanding partners will help create an unforgettable week of events culminating in Super Bowl Sunday in 2027 that will celebrate the region as an epicenter of sports, entertainment and culture,” the NFL Commissioner added.

This will be the second occasion that the home of the Chargers and the Rams serves as the stadium for the Vince Lombardi Trophy game. The first time was at Super Bowl LVI in 2022 when the Rams emerged victorious against the Cincinnati Bengals.

When the kickoff takes place, it will mark the 60th anniversary of the first Super Bowl, which was contested at the Memorial Coliseum. Additionally, the Greater Los Angeles area, comprising LA, Long Beach, and Santa Ana, will host the Super Bowl for the ninth time.

In terms of television broadcasting, the game will be aired on ESPN and ABC. This will be the first time that ESPN broadcasts the Super Bowl.

Big years ahead for Los Angeles

With the arrival of the Super Bowl in 2027, Los Angeles will have three very busy years between 2026 and 2028. First, it will host some matches of the FIFA World Cup, held in collaboration with Mexico and Canada. In 2028, it will be the host country for the Olympic Games.
