49ers 6 vs 41 Seahawks summary, stats, score and highlights | NFL Playoffs Division Round

Kenneth Walker made it three TDs with this six yard run to the end zone to put this game out of reach. It was a complete and total domination from start to finish from the Sehawks who are going back to the NFC Championhip for the first time since the 2013 season. Walker had 116 yards on 19 carries as he led the Seahawks over San Fran on Saturday night. Now Seattle will wait for the winner of the Rams and Bears game on Sunday night. 

Brock Purdy and the NIners couldn't do a whole lot on the offensive end. Their injuries might have caught up to them in the worst moment of the season. Even if they were healthy, there was no stopping this Seattle defense. Purdy went 15/27 for 140 yards and an INT from Lumen Field. 

The Seahawks took full control of the game with this Kenneth Walker TD right before the halftime break and Walker was just getting his night started. 

Sam Darnold won his first playoff game of his career on Saturday night. He didn't have to be great with the defense and special team taking care of business, but he went 12/17 for 124 yards and this TD to Jaxon Smith-Njigba. 

The Seahawks defense shut the Niners down, and not for the first time this season. They held them to 3 points in Week 18 and kept them out of the end zone again on Saturday night. 

The Seattle Seahawks are moving on to the NFC Championship after a blowout win over their division rivals, the San Francisco 49ers. The night started with a bang as Rashid Shaheed took the opening kickoff to the house and set the tone for the rest of the night.

Right before the half, it was Kenneth Walker taking it for a TD from 6 yards out. SEA lead 24-6 at half. 

Sam Darnold hasn't had to be great, but he's 7/12 for 68 yard and he has the only TD pass of the night after finding JSN who has just one catch on the night, but it was a big one. 

After a SEA kickoff return and a fourth down stop, Tonges got stripped on this pass that would have been a first down. Instead the Seahawks took the ball with great field possession and they would punish SF.

Warner back? 

There were whispers that maybe just maybe Fred Warner was gearing up for a dramatic return tonight against the Seahawks. He dislocated and fractured his ankle back in October in a gruesome injury, but he has been recovering quickly and he even had a return to practice  in limited capacity early this week. Unfortunately for the Niners they won't have their heartbeat of the defense back tonight, but they have done a great job without Warner or Nick Bosa who also suffered a serious injury early this season. If the Niners win tonight, they could open up the door for a Warner return in the NFC Championship game. 

Darnold in big game? 

Could things be different this time around? He was in a similar position last year with the Vikings. A Week 18 match up for the one seed in the NFC against the Detroit Lions. The Lions spanked Minnesota and held Darnold to 166 yards and 18/41 passing as they took the one seed and left the Vikings with the Wild Card spot. The Vikings had to play the Rams in the first round and once again, Darnold was shut down. He did throw for a TD and 245 yards, but he also got sacked nine times, got picked once and was strip sacked as the Rams smothered the Vikings 27-9. Troy Aikman was on the broadcast and wondered if his last couple games were going to be enough to make teams second guess signing him to a long term contract. This year he and the Seahawks were able to take care of business in Week 18, but this is the real test tonight in the playoffs. 

Seahawks getting a little papal help?

The Seahawks might have a bit of history on their side and even more than that a little divine intervention. Every year that a new Pope has been named since 2000, the Seahawks have gone to the Super Bowl. It happened in 2005 when Pope Benedict XVI was named, but Seattle lost the Super Bowl to Pittsburgh. In 2013, Pope Francis became the penultimate Pope and the Seahawks won the Super Bowl when they beat the New England Patriots. This year, Pope Leo XIV was named the new Pope and Seahawks fans are saying their prayers that the new Pope brings them the same divine guidance to Super Sunday.

Sam Darnold has been exactly the kind of quarterback that the Seahawks were hoping to get when they took a gamble and signed the free agent QB in the spring. He threw for 4,048 yards, 25 TDs and 14 INTs this season and has been the perfect compliment for this Seahawks defense. He has managed games when he's needed to and he’s went out and won games when he’s needed to like he did when Seattle beat the Rams in the Week 16 overtime thriller.

Brock Purdy has battled injury all season long. He only played nine games in the regular season but came back stronger than ever for the final seven games of the season. He had the offense rolling leading up the to Seahawks game in Week 18. In the three games before Week 18 he was averaging 300 yards, and threw for 11 TDs with just 2 INTs. Then he and the Niners went quiet against the Seahawks defense when he passed for just 127 yards and an INT. Tonight, the Niners are going to need their big money QB to perform like the star that he is against this stingy Seattle defense. 

Seahawks last game

The last game the Seahawks played was the Week 18 game in San Francisco. With the 1 seed on the line, the Seahawks went into Levi's Stadium and shut down the Niners offense. San Fran gained just 173 yards all game long, and scored one field goal in the 2nd quarter. Zach Charbonnet ran in a 27 yard TD in the first quarter to take a 7-0 lead and that would be enough for the Seahawks to take the one seed against the Niners in their home. 

49ers last game 

The Niners had to settle for the 6 seed in the NFC, and that set them up with a match up with the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles from Lincoln Financial Field. It was a tight game until the end as both teams exchanged the lead all night. Brock Purdy threw for 262 yards and two TDs, as the defense locked down in the second half. San Fran trailed 19-17 after a Philly FG with 8:00 to go in the 4th quarter but the Niners would drive down the field and Purdy hit McCaffrey in the end zone to put San Fran up 23-19 with under 3:00 minutes to go. The Eagles would get down to the San Fran 21 yard line but the defense held strong and forced a turnover on downs.
