A.J. Brown explains viral touchdown celebration
The Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl LIX champions after defeating the Kansas City Chiefs and wide receiver A.J. Brown’s touchdown celebration went viral.

The Philadelphia Eagles didn’t just win Super Bowl LIX - they dominated it. The entire game, the Eagles were in control. There wasn’t a single moment of concern that the Kansas City Chiefs would make a comeback.
By the second quarter, the Eagles had the Chiefs in a 24-0 hole, and the score was taken up to that number thanks to a 12-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jalen Hurts to wide receiver A.J. Brown. What made the moment extra special though was the celebration dance Brown did afterwards.
Brown’s viral touchdown celebration a tribute
After Brown made the touchdown, he did a cha-cha slide in the end zone, a dance move that went viral on social media.
But the dance didn’t come out of nowhere. It was actually a tribute to an interview conversation he’d had ahead of the game with Cleveland Browns quarterback Jameis Winston. Winston had given Brown the idea for the celebration dance himself:
"We got that celebration from Jameis. Shoutout to Jameis!"

“Can I give you a celebration suggestion?” Winston asked Brown. “I know at family reunions, we talk about a cha-cha slide. I want you to slide to the left, slide to the right, criss-cross!”
And that’s exactly what Brown did. After the game, he was asked if he did the dance for Winston and Brown confirmed that he did. “We got that celebration from Jameis. Shoutout to Jameis!”
