Bengals 34 vs 35 Ravens summary, stats, scores and highlights | NFL Week 10
Had to be a frustrating night for Joe Burrow who had a sensational game. He said it's going to take 10 wins to get to the playoffs. That would leave them with one more loss they can afford and they still have a lot of football left. They have some winnable games, but they also have two division showdowns against the AFC North leading Steelers remaining.
Baltimore has something special with Lamar Jackson and he's got something special with the city. They think he's going to be the MVP for a second straight year and his third overall, and you won't hear any arguments from me.
Zac Taylor called an aggressive game all night long so with a chance to win it with a two point conversion there was no doubt what he was going to do. Burrow looked for Tanner Hudson in the end zone but that pass fell incomplete and the Ravens held on to win. The replays showed a potential hold on Gesicki and a defender hit Burrow in the face mask but no flag flew for either as the Bengals took another step closer to playoff elimination.
Burrow and the Bengals were cool, calm and collected taking the ball back with 1:49 to go in the 4th quarter. Andre Iosivas converted on an early 4th and 10 and then Burrow continued to find Chase as they raced down the field. Burrow and Chase would connect for one final time with this TD pass to the corner to give the Bengals a chance to tie or take the lead.
Burrow ended the night with 428 yards and four TDs on 34/56 passing while Ja'Marr Chase had 264 yards receiving, just two yards shy of his career high.
Back and forth we went from Baltimore in a game that seemed like whoever had the ball last was going to win the game. That was almost the case on Thursday night as the Ravens stormed down the field and took the lead with a quick 7 play, three and a half minute drive that was capped off by this little jump pass from Jackson to Rashod Bateman. Jackson had just 71 yards in the first half but finished the game with 290 yards and four TDs on 25/33 passing. Another MVP type performance for the two time MVP.
On the very next play from scrimmage Burrow would take a deep shot to Jamar Chase who had a monster game. The Bengals offense had gone cold and this jolted them back life with under 6:00 to go in the 4th quarter.
Jackson sprinted to the pylon to put the Ravens up 7 after the two point conversion and left a little extra on that run Ja'Marr Chase kept in mind for the rest of the night.
The Bengals led by 10 in the 4th quarter of their overtime loss to the Ravens in Week 5, and they blew a 14 point lead on Thursday night. The defense would turn Cincy over on downs against as Zac Taylor called an aggressive game all night and the Ravens turned that good field position into a touchdown as Jackson hit ole faithful Mark Andrews who had 6 catches for 68 yards and this TD on a night that Isaiah Likely was sidelined with injury.
Tylan Wallace introduced himself to the world on Thursday night. He had 3 catches but he only needed one to set M&T Bank Stadium ablaze with this 83 yard tap dance down the sideline to close the Ravens to within a point. Justin Tucker would miss the extra point, which left Baltimore behind by a point early in the 4th quarter.
Lamar Jackson is a two time MVP for a reason and this is the reason. He makes plays no one else can and he makes them when the game is on the line. He backed all the way up to the 30 yards line before tight roping down the sideline to get a first down and put his team at the one yard line on 3rd and 9. He has had a lot of brilliant performances, this one ranks up there with the best of them.
With everything seeming to be going the Bengals way Brown was stripped Marlon Humphrey and the ball was recovered by Roquan Smith to give the Ravens a shot of life midway through the third quarter. This Ravens defense gave up a lot of big plays, but they made a handful of them too, none bigger than this fumble that brought Baltimore back to life.
On the Bengals first offensive play of the second half Burrow went deep over the middle for his top target and Ja'Marr Chase did the rest. Those two kept this Bengals team in the game all night with big play after big play on a night that Tee Higgins was out injured. Cincy had all the momentum going into the half and this play gave them all the momentum coming out of the half.
A couple plays after the interception was overturned Burrow hit Tanner Hudson in the end zone to take the lead into halftime. Burrow said after the loss to the Eagles this team needs to win 10 games to get into the playoffs, and he played like he was trying to will his team to victory in a near must win game from Baltimore.
Late in the second half the Bengals were knocking on the door but Joe Burrow's pass looked like it got picked off in the end zone by Brandon Stephens, but upon further review his second foot didn't get down before his other foot brushed the out of bounds line.
The Ravens didn't find their rhythm until the second half, but they did get into the end zone in the second quarter after the defense came up with a turn over on downs that gave Lamar Jackson a short field. He found Nelson Agholor wide open in the corner of the end zone to tie the game up at 7-7.
The Baltimore Ravens survived another instant classic against the Cincinnati Bengals to keep pace in the division and in the AFC as Cincy's playoff hopes took another big hit on Thursday night. Lamar Jackson added his back to back MVP candidacy with a four touchdown night.
The Bengals start the game and marched it right down the field letting the Ravens know they were ready for a scrap. They got a defensive holding call on 4th down inside the 10 to keep the drive alive and Chase Brown punched it into the end zone, but he did most of his damage in the pass game ending the night with 52 receiving yards.
There was a call of maybe a holding and maybe a face mask against the Ravens, but Burrow's pass fell incomplete and the Ravens held on to win.
This was the TD pass that gave the Bengals a chance to tie or take the lead. Burrow hit Chase for his fourth TD, and Chase's third TD catch, but the Bengals wanted to win it in regulation.

WE ARE UNDERWAY FROM BALTIMORE!!!!
The Ravens won the toss and differed, so here comes Joe Burrow and the Bengals starting the night from the 30.
Tonight's odds
The Bengals have been a depiction of inconsistency over the first half of the season. Even when they win, they don’t play particularly well. Last week was the first time they looked like a team living up to their potential, but this week they are back to being underdogs in Baltimore. The Ravens come into the game as 6 point favorites with the Over/Under set at 52.5.
Spread: Ravens (-6)
Moneyline: Ravens (-275); Bengals (+222)
Over/under: 52.5
One thing we can be sure of is there will be points in this game. Joe Burrow will keep the Bengals in the game, but can they keep pace with the highflying Ravens offense led by Lamar Jackson? The over is looking juicier than either team with that 6.5 point spread. If I had to pick someone to cover the spread, I would take the Bengals given Baltimore’s tendency to let teams back in games in the fourth quarter.
Ravens win 35-31.
Last game: BAL vs. CIN
The last time these two teams met the Bengals were in the midst of an early season disaster, but the Ravens weren’t in much better of a spot. The Bengals were 1-3 and their only win came against the Bengals. The Ravens were 2-2 after losing their first two games but you could tell they were starting to work things out. It was a shootout from Cincy as the Ravens scored first with a Derrick Henry TD but 17 second quarter points put the Bengals up 17-14 at half. The Bengals went up 10 in the third quarter with a Burrow pass to Tee Higgins, but the Ravens fought back. They went up 10 in the 4th quarter with a 70 yard TD pass that Ja’Marr Chase took to the house, but an Isaiah Likely TD catch with under 5:30 to go and a Justin Tucker FG with under 100 seconds to go pushed the game to OT. Cincy won the toss and Evan McPherson had a chance to win it with a 53 yard FG but he pushed it wide left. The Ravens got h ball back, and Derrick Henry busted a 51 yard run inside the 10 yard line and Tucker hit the game winner from 24 yards out.
AFC Standings
Having a look at the standings after the first half of the season, we can see how tight things are in the AFC North. The Steelers are one of the surprises of the season, leading the division after making a mid season QB change. They are coming off their BYE week and have a big match up with the Commanders, but before that the Ravens and the Bengals will face off tonight. The Ravens are 6-3 while the Bengals are fighting to get back into the divisional race and the Wild Card race at 4-5. The 8-0 Chiefs and the 7-2 Bills are at the top of the AFC, but after that it’s basically a toss up for the Wild Card spots. The 5-3 Broncos and the 5-4 Chargers are in the mix, but the Bengals are only a game behind them.
Star watch: Bengals
Joe Burrow came into the season still nursing the wrist injury he suffered in Week 11 against the Ravens in a primetime game. It kept him out for the rest of the year, and even during preseason he was hindered by the lingering injury. Throughout the season there have been various clips of Burrow flexing his wrist and stretching his wrist but it hasn’t kept him out of any game. While the Bengals have struggled this season, Burrow has passed for 2,244 yards which is fifth most in the league and his 20 TDs are tied for second most (with Lamar Jackson) in the NFL. His QB is second in the league behind only Lamar Jackson. So yea it looks like Burrow is back, but it doesn’t quite mean that the Bengals are back.
Star watch: Ravens
Lamar Jackson was already a star before Derrick Henry came to Baltimore, but the two time MVP is playing the best ball of his life and is on the verge of doing something that no one has ever done in the history of the NFL. After the first nine games of the season Lamar Jackson has passed for 2,379 yards, 20 TDs and 2 INTs. He is third in the league in yards, tied for second in the league with 20 TDs and his two INTs are tied with the Josh Allen for the fewest among starting QBs. He’s having the best passing year of his career, while rushing for 505 yards which is in the Top 20 in among all running backs. If he continues this pace, he will become the first quarterback to throw for 4,000 yards and run for 1,000 yards in the same season.
Season recap: Ravens
Baltimore came into the season as one of the favorites to knock the Chiefs off their throne in the AFC. They almost beat the Chiefs in the opening game of the season from Arrowhead, missed the chance to top the defending champions by the length of Isaiah Likely’s toe. They would inexplicably lose to the Raiders the next week after giving up a late double digit lead, but they responded with a five game winning streak including an overtime win over the Bengals as Derrick Henry got more and more comfortable in the Ravens offense as the weeks went on. Their shock loss to the Browns was a wake up call after it appeared the Ravens were invincible. Last week they went back to looking like one of the best teams in the league with their win over the Broncos, but they know tonight will be much trickier against a desperate division rival.
Season recap: Benglas
It was the same ole story for the Bengals who came into the season with injury concerns surrounding Joe Burrow. To add a twist to the plot, Ja’Marr Chase held out and missed most of the preseason as the Bengals got off to a horrific start to the season. They lost to the Patriots, almost beat the Chiefs the next week, and then got beat by Jayden Daniels and the Commanders. The got their first win over the measly Carolina Panthers before taking the Ravens to overtime and losing on a Justin Tucker game winner. They would rebound with two narrow wins over cup cake opponents in the Giants and Brows, but then got smoked by the Eagles the week before last. They are still looking for their first quality win over a team with a winning record, and what better time to do it then on Thursday night against the Ravens?
Last week: Ravens
The Ravens were coming off of their third loss to the season after Jameis Winston and the Browns stunned them in Week 7, but they responded with a waxing of the Denver Broncos who came into the Baltimore with the same record as the Ravens. They both might have been 5-3, but there was only one true contender in the AFC on the field in M&T Bank Stadium last week. Derrick Henry controlled the came, going for another 100 yard gain and scoring 2 TDs while Lamar Jackson had a perfect passer rating, going 16/19 for 280 yards and 3 TDs as the Ravens blew the Broncos out 41-10 to set up this mouthwatering Thursday night match up.
Last week: Bengals
The Bengals bounced back from a thumping they took against the Eagles two weeks ago with a blow out win of their own over the Las Vegas Raiders. Joe Burrow told reporters after that loss against the Eagles that Cincy’s objective for the rest of the season is get to 10-7, which should be good enough to get them to the playoffs. Burrow answered his own call, tossing five touchdown passes while Chase Brown ran all over the Raiders defense. It was by far their best game of the season, but will it carry over to tonight’s game against the Ravens? If they can find a way to pull this one off, than the belief will start to grow in the Queen City.
We are live from M&T Bank Stadium
Hello everyone and welcome to Baltimore where the Ravens are coming off of a rebound win over the Denver Broncos last week after a shock loss to the Browns. Baltimore has had moments in which they have looked like the top team in the league as Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry have been torching the competition, but have fallen two a couple of the worst teams in the league in Cleveland and Las Vegas. Tonight they look to keep track with the Steelers in the division and the Chiefs in the AFC, but the Bengals have bigger problems. After a terrible start to the season they are starting to figure things out, but haven’t left themselves much room for error. Last week they had their best game of the year when they downed the Las Vegas Raiders, and will be looking to build on that tonight against an established Super Bowl contender.
