Update:

The NFL has marketed its product extremely well. With nearly half a year of offseason, football somehow still never goes fully away. Between the Combine and the Draft, and then the schedule release, there is never a dull moment for the National Football League.

But the schedule release is perhaps the most intriguing of the offseason events, because it’s turned into just that: an event. In the past, the schedule was just released one day, quietly, without anyone really knowing until they maybe Googled it at some point to find it existing on the internet. But now, there are countdowns, leaks, early looks, and the best part - the schedule release videos.

The schedule release videos are a relatively new concept, with each NFL team putting out a video to their social media accounts in the moment their schedule is announced. Some of them are creative, others funny, and some just plain out there. But the truly impressive ones are those that actually implement the order of the schedule, as the creators of these videos are only made aware of that one day before the public.

The 2026 schedule release videos did not disappoint. Here are the best of this year’s social media videos.

Best NFL schedule release videos 2026

Indianapolis Colts channel the Simpsons

The Indianapolis Colts created a “Simpsons”-themed video, personalizing the intro with impressive details and taking us into Springfield, using different scenes from the show for every opponent. Browns fans may be offended by their particular scene.

New England Patriots - The goodest video

The New England Patriots had potentially the cutest schedule release video you’ll ever see. In partnership with the Baypath Humane Society of Hopkinton, the video features several adorable pups playing with, chewing up, and destroying dog toys in the theme of the Patriots’ opponents. In the end, information is provided on how to adopt a dog from the society. 10/10. No notes.

Green Bay Packers - Animated battle of the cheese curds

For the animation alone, the Green Bay Packers deserve credit for this one. Packers players like Jordan Love and Micah Parsons were featured in claymation, fighting demon cheese curds in the “Kickin’ Curds Arcade”. In the end, the gamemaster in charge of it all was the most famous Clay of them all.

Chicago Bears - Rome Odunze as Bob Ross

The Chicago Bears’ video featured wide receiver Rome Odunze in a Bob Ross-inspired role, painting a picture complete with different birds, animals, jets, and more to represent their 2026 opponents.

Kansas City Chiefs - Throwing it back to the ‘90s

The Kansas City Chiefs leaned into nostalgia with their release video, with an infomercial called “QVChiefs”, selling all kinds of interesting doodads. The best part is the hilarious banter between the divorced hosts. Oh, and there’s also an appearance from “America’s Favorite Mom”, Donna Kelce.

Tennessee Titans - Finding dopplegangers

The Tennessee Titans once had a brilliant video asking people on the streets to identify NFL logos. This time, they found lookalikes to stalk to represent each opponent. Nothing will top the logo video, but this one comes close.

New York Jets - “Football is art”

The Jets leaned into their artsy side, blending different colors of paint to reveal each week’s opponent. Besides just being soothingly satisfying to watch, the Jets video also gives subtle, humorous hints in the names of each color.

Los Angeles Chargers - Full Halo

The Chargers have set a high standard for themselves with their past release videos, and they didn’t let us down this year. Last year, it was Minecraft. This year, a Halo-inspired video. Beyond the impressive graphics and pure editing skills behind the video, there are also subtle trolls if you look for them, including trolling the Patriots about the Mike Vrabel-Dianna Russini drama. When the Chargers get to their Week 12 opponent, a message pops up that says “Nothing to see here”, followed by a notification from the New York Post and a sign for “NEXT PHOTO DUMP 1 MILE”. They go by fast, but the signs are there if you look for them!
