Bills might have to face Ravens without important offensive weapon
Josh Allen led the Buffalo Bills to a 13-4 record in 2024 but he may be without an important teammate against the Baltimore Ravens in the Divisional round.

The Buffalo Bills eased past the Denver Broncos in the Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs, cruising to a 31-7 last weekend.
Quarterback Josh Allen continued his impressive form against Denver, recording 272 yards and throwing two touchdowns for his team. Allen remains in contention to be crowned MVP but he may be missing a key offensive asset for this weekend’s visit of the Baltimore Ravens.
Ravens running back Ray Davis suffered a heavy hit against the Broncos, stretching to reach a long pass from Allen but colliding with Brandon Jones. The Denver safely made hard contact with Davis' helmet and the running back was unable to continue.

It has since been confirmed that Ray Davis was admitted to the NFL concussion protocol after being removed from the game and was quickly listed as out for the game. One week on, he faces a race against time to return to the team for the Divisional round. The concussion protocol is a multifaceted test of a player’s state. Sometimes players can return to play the following week; in other times they may remain on the sidelines for far longer.
What is the NFL concussion protocol?
In response to growing concerns about player safety and the long-term effects of a career in the NFL, the league has imposed tough testing procedures to dictate when players can return after suffering a suspected concussion.
The NFL concussion protocol is a five-step process, which culminates with an examination by the team physicians and independent neurologists.
What is the NFL's concussion protocol?
Step 1 - Rest and recovery “until his signs and symptoms and neurologic examination” are at "baseline status”
Step 2 - Light aerobic exercise
Step 3 - Continued aerobic exercise and introduction of strength training
Step 4 - Non-contact football
Step 5 - Full clearance to play, agreed upon by team physician and independent neurological consultant
The Philadelphia Eagles recently welcomed back QB Jalen Hurts after a sustained absence due to concussion. He suffered a concussion against the Washington Commanders on December 22 and missed the final two games of the regular season, returning for the Wild Card round to lead his team to a 22-10 win over the Green Bay Packers to kick-start the postseason journey.
