Broncos surprise and leave out one of their cornerbacks: what about Tanner McCalister?
The Denver Broncos are making some changes to the roster heading into the 2025 NFL season, including an unexpected waive.

The Denver Broncos are looking to improve upon their 10-7 season from 2024 - their first winning season since 2016. They’re making some moves ahead of the 2025 NFL season after finishing up their mandatory minicamp last week.
Broncos waive Tanner McCalister
One of those moves include dropping one cornerback to make room for antother. The Broncos waived CB Tanner McCalister and agreed to terms with Mario Goodrich, who recently played in the UFL.
To make room for expected signing of CB Mario Goodrich, Broncos have waived DB Tanner McAlister per source. McAlister played in 3 games for Broncos last year.

McCalister played college ball at Oklahoma State for four years, putting up 123 tackles, 4.5 for a loss, an interception, and 12 pass deflections. After graduating, he transferred to Ohio State and played for one season there, recording 24 tackles, three interceptions, and a pass deflection.
He went undrafted in 2023 and the Cleveland Browns signed him as a free agent. He was waived and re-signed to the practice squad ahead of the season, played in just three games, and made two tackles. He became a free agent again at the end of the season and the Broncos signed him in January 2024 and put on their practice squad. He finished the season with just one tackle in three games.
Their new CB, Goodrich, had a similar NFL experience, going undrafted in 2022 and spending time on the practice squads of the Eagles and Giants before moving on to play in the UFL for the Birmingham Stallions.
