After three Thanksgiving NFL games, the festive football fun continues on November 29 with only the second ever Black Friday encounter, in which the Kansas City Chiefs host the Las Vegas Raiders at Arrowhead Stadium (3:00 p.m ET).

Patrick Mahomes and Co will, of course, be firm favourites to win by a comfortable margin following their imperious 10-1 start to the season. The Raiders, by contrast, are 2-9, which doesn’t suggest they are likely to put up much of a fight, but you never know. In any case, if the football isn’t up to standard, you could always be on Taylor Swift watch…

Why is Chiefs - Raiders on Black Friday?

TV football on a Friday is something of an oddity to most, although this is clearly not just any old Friday. Last year, Amazon Prime Video saw an opportunity to exploit fans, many of whom may be off work, still having football fever after a Thanksgiving triple header.

With more people looking for something to do than on your average Friday, why not show an NFL game early-ish in the day, avoiding the post-6:00 p.m. broadcasting blackout?

As a result, Black Friday NFL games are a new thing and are set to be broadcast on Amazon Prime Video for the foreseeable future.

What Amazon Prime subscription do I need to watch Chiefs - Raiders?

The good news for football fans is that anyone who has a standard Amazon Prime Video subscription will be able to watch the Chiefs play the Raiders. The game will also be included as part of an Amazon Prime membership. Either way, you’ll get it for “free,” (i.e. there’s no need to pay extra).

For anyone who doesn’t have Amazon Prime or Amazon Prime Video, 30-day free trials are available for both services, so you could actually watch the game for nothing this way.

If you’re based in Kansas City, meanwhile, the game will be shown on KSHB-TV 41, an NBC affiliate.
