Update:

CeeDee Lamb isn’t into hierarchies. And if you think George Pickens arrived in Dallas to play second fiddle, think again. At a recent celebrity softball game, the Cowboys’ top receiver summed up the new pecking order in just three words: “We both ones.”

He continued.

“There ain’t no A or B. None of that. You look over there, you see one. You look over there; you see another one. Do what you got to do with that.”

Cowboys: Lamb and Pickens to combine

The Cowboys traded for Pickens earlier this month, sending a 2026 third-round pick and a 2027 fifth to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for the explosive wideout and a 2027 sixth-rounder. The move raised eyebrows – and expectations, even amongst their own frustrated fans.

Pickens gives the Cowboys exactly what they’ve been missing: another top-tier threat defenses have to take seriously. At 6-foot-3 with elite ball skills and a career average of over 16 yards per catch, Pickens brings big-play potential and a strong physical presence – something Dak Prescott was quick to praise. “Very strong hands… more than a 50-50 catcher,” the quarterback said, clearly pleased to have another weapon in the mix.

For Lamb, who battled constant double-teams and still posted 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns last season, the arrival of Pickens isn’t just welcome – it’s a shift in strategy. No longer should he be the only receiver keeping defensive coordinators up at night. Now they’ll have to worry about both.
