Chiefs rookie WR Xavier Worthy takes a shot at Buffalo Bills after AFC Championship win
The Kansas City Chiefs are heading to the Super Bowl for a third straight year, after beating the Buffalo Bills and rookie WR Xavier Worthy is a big reason why.

The Kansas City Chiefs are heading to their third straight Super Sunday after another dramatic playoff win over the Buffalo Bills. The Bills came up just short finally breaking their 30 year Super Bowl drought, but the loss might hurt even extra when they think back to last year’s draft.
Well Worthy of pick
One of the keys to the Chiefs win on Sunday night in KC was rookie WR Xavier Worthy who looked like a seasoned veteran in his first AFC Championship. The first year WR was the top receiver in the win over Buffalo, and might have had a little extra motivation heading into a game that he has some history with.
It was last April and Xavier Worthy was one of the most prized pass catchers in the 2024 NFL Draft class. The Bills who would offload a massive portion of their production at the wide receiver position traded their No. 28 pick to the Kansas City Chiefs who took Worthy with the pick.

Worthy caught six passes for 85 yards and 1 TD, and had another 16 yard on the ground. This TD came late in the first half, and he might have had the biggest play of the night on a 3rd and 5 with just over 2:00 to go in the second quarter. He made an incredible 26 catch, which was reviewed and upheld, and the Chiefs would stretch their lead out to 21-10 just after the Two Minute Warning.
Bills skipping on Worthy “their loss”
In the post game celebrations, Worthy didn’t shy away from reminding the world that the Bills had traded away their first round pick to Kansas City which opened the door for the Chiefs to select the fastest player in NFL combine history.

“Hey man, I said it once. They skipped on me and that’s their loss.” Those were the declarations of the rookie WR that helped lead the Chiefs back to their third straight Super Bowl while the heartbreak in Buffalo gets stronger by the year.
Worthy was the fifth WR taken in last year’s draft, and while the other first year pass catchers have had fantastic seasons, none of them are still playing this late in the season. The Bills would use their 33rd pick in the draft to take WR Keon Coleman who had just one catch for 12 yards on Sunday night.
