Josh Allen’s emotional message after another heartbreaking loss to Mahomes and the Chiefs

While Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are gearing up for their third consecutive Super Bowl appearance, aiming to make NFL history by becoming the league’s first-ever three-peat champions, there’s another side to the story - the heartbreaking loss.

Josh Allen and the Bills, who had a stellar regular season with just three losses, once again fell short of reaching the biggest game of the year, losing to the defending champions yet again. Despite their impressive record, their season ended in the AFC Championship Game, crushed by the Chiefs for the third time in recent years.

In a visibly emotional state, with his voice breaking and eyes welling up, the 28-year-old Allen addressed the media, breaking his silence on the team’s loss. He spoke candidly about the AFC Championship defeat, his third straight to Mahomes and the Chiefs.

“It’s not fun,” Allen admitted. “But to be the champs, you’ve got to beat the champs, and we didn’t do it tonight. I think one of the main reasons is they played really well. They put their big guys in the middle, and our linebackers were coming downhill. They executed really well.”

Despite the disappointment, Allen took time to express gratitude toward his teammates. “I’m so proud of these guys,” he said. “They show up every day, work as hard as they can. Everyone really bought into what we talked about before the season started. Of course, I love these guys no matter what happened.”

Mahomes: Allen’s Kryptonite

Allen now holds a 7-6 record in NFL playoff games, but four of those losses have come at the hands of Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs - who have become his postseason nemesis.

In those four games, Allen has thrown for a combined 1,039 yards -an average of 259.75 yards per game - completing 65.7% of his passes. His stats aren’t bad: nine touchdowns and just one interception. But despite his impressive numbers, he simply can’t get past Mahomes.

In all four matchups, Allen was outperformed by Mahomes. The Chiefs’ star quarterback threw for a total of 1,163 yards, averaging 290.75 yards per game. He also tossed nine touchdowns, but without a single interception - making him Allen’s ultimate kryptonite in the playoffs.
