Cowboys’ record at AT&T Stadium: Impressive number of wins at home in Dallas
Over the last two seasons, the Dallas Cowboys have played glaringly better at home than on the road, but what’s the real reason for that?
One of the perks of being the NFL team with the most fans in the league is that the crowds at the home games are LOUD. That makes it even more difficult for an opponent to come in and win, and it makes it a lot more motivating for the home team. The Dallas Cowboys know this well.
The Cowboys’ home game streak
The Cowboys ended the 2023 regular season at 12-5 and all five of those losses came on the road. In fact, they won 16 straight home games over the 2022 and 2023 seasons, losing their 2022 season opener to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and then not losing another home game again until the 2023 playoffs against the Green Bay Packers. (In the first round, and perhaps when it mattered most, but I digress.)
It hasn’t always been this way. Here’s a look at some of the past seasons and how they compare:

Obviously there are a lot of factors to consider, like which teams they played on the road those seasons, who was on the team, what injuries were they dealing with, etc.
Regardless, the Cowboys have to play better on the road this season. It’s an impressive statistic what they’ve been able to do at home over the last few years, but the drastic difference on the road is inexcusable. Last season, four of the five road losses came against playoff teams. But one of the road losses came against the Arizona Cardinals, who ended their season at 4-13.
This season, the Cowboys will play the Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons, and Carolina Panthers on the road in addition to their regular road games against NFC East rivals Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Commanders, and New York Giants.
That leaves the nine home games against the Saints, Ravens, Lions, Eagles, Texans, Giants, Bengals, Bucs, and Commanders this season. Five of those teams finished with winning seasons and made the playoffs. Four were division winners. Two made it to the Conference Finals.
This year we will find out if the home streak continues, or if the challenge of an actual good team has more to do with the win-streak.
