Fans will finally see the Dallas Cowboys in action on Sunday Night Football when they play host to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at AT&T Stadium.

Injury report

The hometown crowd will be relieved to know that all systems are go for quarterback Dak Prescott, who had to leave practice earlier this week because of an ankle issue. He had full participation in Friday’s practice and was not listed on the final injury report.

However, wide receiver Michael Gallup is definitely not playing on Sunday, as he has yet to recover from his knee injury. Safety Jayson Kearse is listed as questionable, due to his injured neck.

Rookie Jalen Tolbert

There’s a possibility that third-round draft pick Jalen Tolbert will not be seeing action in the team’s season opener. The highly-touted rookie may not have made as much progress as others had during training camp.

Cowboys executive vice-president Stephen Jones said that the team may have given Tolbert too much too soon.

“We probably asked a lot of him early. In terms of playing all the spots. Both outside and in. Probably gave him a bigger challenge than probably we needed to,” according to Jones.

Dak expects much from CeeDee

Dak Prescott has a lot of faith in wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. He believes that the 23-year-old has got what it takes to shine and become the number one receiver on the team, now that Amari Cooper has left for the Cleveland Browns. The quarterback says that Lamb will quickly reach the level of standouts Cooper Kupp and Davante Adams.

“Expect him to go and be mentioned as one of those names when this season’s done. He’ll go out there and just prove that. He’s been preparing to do that.

Last season, Lamb shared the targets with Cooper, finishing with 79 catches for 1,102 yards and six touchdowns. With all the pressure and expectation heaped upon him, he will have the chance to greatly improve on those numbers.
