Dan Snyder explores potential sale: How much are the Washington Commanders worth?
Washington Commanders owners Dan and Tanya Snyder have hired Bank of America Securities to explore the possibility of selling the NFL team.
Washington Commanders owners Dan and Tanya Snyder have announced in a statement that they have hired bankers to explore the possibility of selling the NFL team which has belonged to them for 23 years.
The Snyders have hired Bank of America Securities “to consider potential transactions,” according to the release. The Snyder family owns almost all the shares in the franchise.
The statement further reads: “The Snyders remain committed to the team, all of its employees and its countless fans to putting the best product on the field and continuing the work to set the gold standard for workplaces in the NFL.”
Both Snyder and the franchise are currently being investigated by the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Reform regarding allegations of workplace misconduct and illegal financial transactions.
Billion-dollar franchise
According to Forbes’ valuation made in August this year, the team is worth $5.6 billion, much more than the $750 million price tag that the Snyders got them for. The Commanders rank sixth among most valuable NFL franchises.
