Update:

In January former Texas Longhorns and Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Isaiah Bond declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. This week, he surrendered to Frisco Police Department on an outstanding sexual assault warrant.

ESPN reports that the 21-year-old turned himself in on Thursday morning and was swiftly released from Collin County jail on a $25,000 bail. Bond has been projected to go as a second-round pick in this this year’s draft, with the Carolina Panthers emerging as a potential destination.

With less than two weeks to go until the 2025 NFL Draft, Bond issued a statement on Instagram dismissing the “patently false” claims made against him.

“Regarding the accusation made against me, I would appreciate the time and opportunity to defend myself and prove the claims made, patently false. I am in full cooperation with the authorities and will remain a willing and active participant in the investigation,” he said.

“Unfortunately, claims like these prove to be harmful to all involved, absent full review. I kindly request that all reserve judgement until the authorities provide a complete report based on truth and evidence.”

Bond was a prodigious athlete from high school, starring on the track as a 100-meter and 200-meter runner, alongside his burgeoning football career. He committed to play NCAA football at the University of Alabama and enjoyed significant playing time as a freshman, taking a touchdown pass in the 2022 Sugar Bowl.

After two years with the Crimson Tide he transferred to the University of Texas and was again a key player. Bond played 14 games for the Longhorns in 2024 and hauled in five touchdowns, racking up a total 540 receiving yards.
