Update:

Buffalo Bills new boy Elijah Moore says he’s relishing the prospect of linking up with MVP-winning quarterback Josh Allen in the NFL next season.

The former Jets and Browns wide receiver joined the Bills as a free agent earlier in May, signing a one-year contract reported to be worth a guaranteed $2.5 million.

“I’m glad I’m on this side”

Speaking to reporters at practice on Tuesday, per Bills Digest, Moore said: “To have the opportunity to be with Josh, an MVP-calibre quarterback…

“[He’s] a guy that I’ve been playing against for four years, being on the other side of him. I’m glad I’m on this side.”

Moore added: “I caught a pass from him today and I couldn’t do nothing but just smile.

“The way that it felt, the way that it was just seemingly hitting me in the chest… I’m just grateful to be in this position. I’m excited for what’s next.”

Playoff mainstays with Allen under center

In 2025, the Bills will attempt to reach the playoffs for the seventh season in a row, having only missed the postseason once since they selected Allen in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

In his seven-year career in the league, Allen has led Buffalo to two AFC Championship Games - most recently in 2024, a season that also saw the 29-year-old named NFL MVP for the first time.

Can the Bills finally win the Super Bowl?

Speaking after losing last season’s AFC title decider to the Kansas City Chiefs, Allen vowed to end the Bills’ long wait to return to the Super Bowl - and to steer the franchise to its first ever Vince Lombardi Trophy.

“We’re going to continue to turn every stone over and cross the ’T’s and dot the ‘I’s and do whatever we can to bring the Lombardi back,” the quarterback declared.

The Bills have not reached the Super Bowl since the 1993 season, when the team suffered the last in a run of four consecutive defeats in the NFL championship game.

When does the Bills’ 2025 NFL season start?

Buffalo is scheduled to play the first of its three 2025 preseason games on August 9, when Sean McDermott’s men take on the New York Giants at Highmark Stadium.

The Bills’ opening regular-season matchup is on September 7, at home to the Baltimore Ravens.
