One of the season’s most anticipated NFL matchups in recent years is between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills. Both teams have provided some of the most thrilling games in recent years, with star quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes leading the Chiefs and Josh Allen leading the Bills.

However, in their last meeting, a controversial incident affected the outcome of the game. The Bills won 20-17 after a play that resulted in a touchdown was called back due to an offside penalty against the Chiefs. The touchdown would have given the Chiefs the lead and potentially the win.

During the play, Travis Kelce threw a lateral pass to Kadarius Toney, who ran into the end zone. However, Toney was later determined to have been offside, resulting in the penalty and the nullification of the touchdown.

Head coach Andy Reid classified this fact as “shameful.” “It’s a little embarrassing for the National Football League to have that happen,” he revealed after the game.

Patrick Mahomes threw incomplete passes on his subsequent three attempts after the controversial play, resulting in turnovers;

At the end of the game, the quarterback exploded and demanded an explanation from three officials about Toney’s offside decision. “I’ve played seven years in the NFL, and I’ve never been called for an offensive offside,” Mahomes mentioned.

Postgame comments fines

The NFL announced that they had fined Chiefs’ coach Andy Ried with a $100,000 fine for his postgame comments. Kansas City’s QB was fined $50,000 for his behavior and criticism of the refs after the Bills game.

They were calling some stupid stuff,” Johnson said after the game. “They should get fined for calling bad, making worse, terrible calls, and stuff like that. That’s how pissed I am. They cost us the game. I don’t care what nobody says. They cost us the game.
