First, there were rumors that Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott had to undergo an MRI for a mystery injury that was causing sports bettors to bet significantly less on the Cowboys. Then, Prescott was spotted in a walking boot just weeks before the start of training camp.

But Prescott is here to say that there’s nothing to worry about.

Prescott feeling great

With Cowboys training camp just two weeks away, it was concerning for fans to see Prescott in a walking boot, especially after a gruesome ankle injury kept him out most of the season in 2020.

However, the QB says it was just a precaution and he’s feeling great. Just weeks before he was spotted wearing the boot in Mexico, Prescott was working out at the Cowboys’ minicamps and the Tight End University. He said that “people are reaching” when they freaked out about the “injury”. In fact, he was using the boot as more of a preventative measure before a fishing trip.

“Literally, it’s absolutely nothing,” said Prescott. “I’m getting older, have to take care of my body and be smart, and if I can take precautions and lessen something by putting on the boot, I’m going to do it. Sorry that it caused such a whirlwind.”

On Tuesday, Prescott hosted a youth football camp at Southlake’s Carroll High School, working out with kids from first through eighth grade. At the camp, Prescott was not wearing the boot.

Prescott and the Cowboys will head to Oxnard, California on July 23 with the first open practice of training camp to be held on Thursday, July 25.
