It ain’t over ’til the fat lady sings: When Nick Sirianni knew the Eagles were going to win the Super Bowl
The Philadelphia Eagles coach stopped by the Barstool Sports studios in his post Super Bowl tour to talk to the guys about Super Bowl LIX and the aftermath.

Nick Sirianni is one of the most vocal, outspoken coaches in the NFL, but he has been relatively quiet since winning the Super Bowl. He made one of his first public apperances since raising the Lombardi Trophy, stopping by the Barstool Sports studios to talk about the game.
Philly learned from past lessons
While talking to Big Cat and PFT Commenter, the Philadelphia Eagles blowout win over the Kansas City Chiefs came up, and even though the game looked over in the first half Sirianni never let up until a few minutes before the clock hit all zeros.
He recalled the Eagles first Super Bowl matchup with the Chiefs a couple years ago when Philly had a lead after two quarters but KC came back with a fury in the second half and eventually won the game with a late fourth quarter field goal.

“In 2022 we were up 24-14 at halftime, and they were getting the ball to come out of half and they went down and scored” said Sirianni.
Title No. 2 for Philly
This year the Eagles went into halftime up 24-0 after back to back picks from the Eagles defense, but the Philly knew that wasn’t enough of a lead to feel comfortable with Patrick Mahomes on the other sideline.
“We were up 24-0 at halftime (this year), and they were getting the ball coming out of the half. We knew who important that drive was going to be. When we were up 40-6 (with six minutes left) I remember saying to our staff ‘let’s take our starters out.”
The Eagles went on to cruise to a 40-22 win over the Chiefs to end KC’s bid for a three peat. It was Philly’s second trip to the Super Bowl in three seasons, and their second Super Bowl win in franchise history. Sirianni is surely thinking about his title defense season now that the Combine finished a few days ago, and the franchise tag deadline ends today, March 4th.
