Update:

The New York Jets have officially parted ways with quarterback Aaron Rogers after a tumultuous two years in the Big Apple. The 41 year old hasn’t indicated if he wants to continue playing, but if he does, it won’t be at Metlife Stadium at least in a Jets jersey.

Rodgers era in NY comes to an end

There are a couple of front runners for the four-time MVP, and one time Super Bowl champ. He may not in his prime, but he showed flashes of brilliance in a season that the New York Jets won just five games. Now the QB who missed the entirety of last year with a torn achilles will have to find a new home if he is going to continue his Hall of Fame career.

Here are the front runners to land Rodgers this offseason.

Pittsburgh Steelers +165

The Steelers are in a peculiar situation. They continue to search for the heir to Ben Roethlisberger who was the Steelers signal caller for more than a decade. They brought in two veteran QBs last offseason, and while things were going well with Justin Fields to start the season and Russell Wilson finished the season under center. At the end of the season the Steelers faded and the offense disappeared. Wilson, who is a free agent, spoke about his desire to stay in the Steele City. With Rodgers on the market they are going to have to decide if they want to entrust another veteran QB, or move on from the QBs they have and go in a different direction that Rodgers.

Las Vegas Raiders +350

The Raiders have been insignificant since they got rid of Derek Carr at the end of the 22/23 season. They haven’t replaced Carr, and the offense has struggled. Two coaches have come and gone since then, and now the Raiders have a new regime with Pete Carroll and Chip Kelley as the offensive coordinator. With Rodgers available, the Raiders know they could bring him in, but it would be short term at the most.

San Francisco 49ers +425

Seeing this one this high up on the board surprised me. The Niners have had a stable starting QB for a long time, and now the QB who was the final pick in the NFL Draft is due for a big contract extension. Coach Kyle Shannahan like Brock Purdy and wants him to stay around. If he gets what he wants, then the Niners could bring in Rodgers in a back up capacity. Whether or not Rodgers wants to be a back up in the final years of his career is another question, even if it is a few miles away from where he grew up.

Minnesota Vikings +500

The Minnesota Vikings signed Sam Darnold on a one year deal last offseason, and he went on to have a spectacular season after rookie JJ McCarthy suffered a season ending knee injury in preseason. For as well as Darnold played, they bright light flicked late in the season with the season on the line. He looked rattled in the final game of the season against the Lions, and after losing out on the one seed, Minnesota was beaten by the LA Rams. McCarthy is the QB of the future, but Kevin O’Connell has been a genius with veteran QBs under center. One thing to remember is the Vikes are in the Packers division and things didn’t exactly end smoothly with Rodgers and Green Bay.

Tennessee Titans +800

With the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans will select.. most likely a QB. They haven’t had a consistent starter since Ryan Tannehill, but they haven’t had a star QB since Steve McNair. Whether they take Cam Ward or Shaduer Sanders, they could want to give their rookie QB some time. That’s not exactly the way it works these days in the NFL. Rookies are now thrown into the fire, and often times with great success. If Tennessee want to ease their rookie QB in slowly, having a veteran QB like Rodgers would do wonders for their future face of the franchise.
