Update:

The Philadelphia Eagles have seen some key players walk out the door in the early days of free agency, but one key offseason singing might make their most effective play even more unstoppable.

Dillon leaves Lambeu

Fresh off of their Super Bowl LIX win, the Eagles have seen some big changes to their roster over the last week. Some of their key defensive players from last year have left the City of Brotherly Love, but the addition of AJ Dillon is going to give Philly’s Tush Push a new dynamic of might and muscle.

Reports out of Philadelphia claim the Eagles are set to sign Dillon. He will join a backfield already consists of Saquon Barkley who just ran for 2,000 yards last year while setting a franchise record in his first year with Philly.

Dillon says he can squat more than 700 pounds, and for a team that prides themselves in their efficiency on short yardage situations, that is going to spell trouble for opposing defenses. Add that to the 600 pounds that Hurts can apparently squat, there may not be a team that will be able to stop the Eagles on 3rd or 4th and short or on goal line plays.

Dillon’s old team tried to ban Tush Push

There have already been petitions to the league in attempts to ban the Tush Push otherwise known as the Brotherly Shove. The Green Bay Packers were the team that presented the case to the league, to seemingly no avail. As fate would have it, the Eagles were able to sign Dillon away from the Packers, only fueling the frustration in Lambeau Field.

Dillon spent last year on injured reserve after suffering a neck injury in preseason, but was a staple in the Packers backfield for the four seasons before that. Now he will join Saquon Barkley, Jalen Hurts and an Eagles offense that just put up 95 total points in the NFC Championship and the Super Bowl.

Jalen Hurts has more rushing TDs than anyone in the league over the last two seasons, and the Tush Push is one of the main reasons why. Before the Super Bowl last month, the Eagles were 28/34 on Tush Push attempts according to Next Gen Stats. Now, the Eagles have two players who can squat a combined 1,300 pounds, which is about 100 lbs. more than a grizzly bear weighs.
