In Sunday’s 38-10 defeat to the Buffalo Bills, star wide receiver for the Las Vegas Raiders, Davante Adams, left the game late in the fourth quarter following a helmet-to-helmet hit. The team has announced that Adams is currently undergoing evaluation for a possible concussion.

During Las Vegas’ final offensive drive of the match, quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo sent a deep pass down the middle towards Adams, who Buffalo Bills safety Taylor Rapp then struck. Rapp was penalized for unnecessary roughness, with the incident taking place at the 3:02 mark in the fourth quarter. Adams struggled to rise to his feet and was subsequently escorted to the medical tent for further assessment. Following this evaluation, he was taken to the locker room, concluding his day with six receptions for a team-leading 84 yards and a touchdown.

Adams had already missed Wednesday’s practice due to a foot injury but participated fully in Thursday and Friday’s sessions.

Will Adams play against Steelers?

Adams’ possible concussion could have him in question for next week’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Should he be put into concussion protocol, he will join Jakobi Meyers as the second Raiders receiver to enter the protocol within the initial two weeks of the season. Meyers suffered an injury towards the end of the Raiders’ Week 1 victory over the Broncos.

At this point, it remains uncertain whether Adams will be sidelined due to his injury.
