Update:

The Kansas City Chiefs beat the Detroit Lions on Sunday evening, moving to a 3-3 record after shaky start to the 2025 NFL season. Now, they welcome back one of their top offensive talents.

Wide receiver Rashee Rice has now completed his six-game NFL suspension and he will be available to play in the Chiefs’ Week 7 clash with the Las Vegas Raiders. Rice has not featured this season due to a league ban, enforced for his part in a multi-car collision in early 2024.

The 25-year-old took to social media shortly after the Chiefs’ 30-17 win on Sunday, posting a meme with the caption ‘Demon home too’ on his story.

Speaking after the game, Patrick Mahomes singled out the return of Rice as a source of optimism for the team. The quarterback is now back in good form after a slow start to the season and he seems excited about the prospect of adding another catcher to the team.

Mahomes said: “Now we’re getting Rashee [Rice] back. And so, it’s all about building depth. I think with that, Veach has done a great job with that. And those guys love each other, that receiver room, they love each other, and then they want each other to do good. And so, when you have that mindset as a whole room, you can have a lot of success.”

It has been a long time since the Chiefs could call on Rice. He injured his knee in Week 4 last year and missed the remainder of the season. That was then followed by the six-game suspension, meaning that he has not played a competitive game in more than a year.

But despite that long stretch on the sidelines there is little doubt that Rice will return to be a key player for the Chiefs once again.
