The four-person inductee list is the smallest of recent years but there are some real history-makers in this year’s Hall of Fame class.

Update:

This weekend the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2025 will be officially enshrined in Canton, Ohio.

This year’s class features just four members, a consequence of the changes to the Hall’s voting criteria. The ceremony will take place on Saturday, August 2.

Here’s a look at this year’s inductees...

Pro Football Hall of Fame: 2025 Inductees

  • Eric Allen (cornerback) - Legendary defensive back with a 14-year career with the Eagles, Saints and Raiders. He finished with 54 interceptions and six Pro Bowl nods.
  • Jared Allen (defensive end) - Ferocious pass rusher who racked up 136 sacks across stints with the Chiefs, Vikings, Bears and Panthers. He twice led the league for sacks.
  • Antonio Gates (tight end) - Undrafted star who became one of the greatest tight ends in NFL history. He had a TE-record 116 receiving touchdowns across his 16 seasons with the Chargers.
  • Sterling Sharpe (wide receiver) - His career with Green Bay was cut short by injury but his dominance earned him a spot. He and brother Shannon are the first pair of brothers enshrined in NFL history.

How to watch Pro Football Hall of Fame Induction

This year’s ceremony will get underway at 12pm ET / 9am PT on Saturday, August 2 and is expected to last about three hours. It will be broadcast on NFL Network, ESPN and Fox.

For the streamers, you can watch the ceremony live on NFL+, the league’s official streaming service. Many cable and streaming-TV packages that include NFL Network (DirecTV Stream, Sling TV, YouTube TV, Hulu+ Live TV) will also carry the broadcast.

This four-member class reflects the tough new Hall of Fame voting rules. There is now a cap on the number of inductees and a requirement that inductees get at least 80% of voters’ support.

The big headlines from this year’s class include Antonio Gates becoming the first player to ever be inducted without playing a single minute of college football. Sterling Sharpe’s inclusion, joining brother Shannon, is a first in the long history of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

“That’s hard for me [to grasp] because where we come from, two little Black boys from Glenville, Georgia, a town of about 2,500 people, this ain’t a dream you have on the farm,” Sterling Sharpe said of his induction.

“This ain’t a dream you have baling hay and corralling chickens and chasing hogs and picking tobacco. You don’t have this dream. It is definitely truly an honor, truly a blessing from God.
