This teammate’s advice may be just what Shedeur Sanders needed ahead of Bills challenge
After a bruising afternoon against Chicago, a teammate’s message may shape how the Browns’ rookie quarterback responds.

Shedeur Sanders did not hide from his worst day as an NFL starter. To be fair, he doesn’t have many to choose from! Three interceptions, a loss to the Bears, and visible frustration across a sputtering Browns offense made it a long afternoon in Chicago. What followed, though, may matter more than the stat line.
What Jeudy said to Sanders
Jerry Jeudy, Cleveland’s top wide receiver and one of the few veterans in the huddle, offered Sanders a blunt but pointed reminder that rookie quarterbacks rarely travel a straight line. Just as important as the words was the timing. With the Buffalo Bills next on the schedule, Sanders is facing a punishing defense. Confidence, not caution, is what’s needed and Jeudy’s advice was simple enough.
"It don't get no better than that... it should be a touchdown," - @JRCherry3 on Shedeur Sanders' INT to Jerry Jeudy.

“Just tell him one game don’t define who you are, it’s part of football,” Jeudy said afterward. “Don’t let that dictate how you come out here and practice and trying to get better each and every week. Just keep being who you are and just stay focused and keep the main thing the main thing, for real.”
Jeudy’s words carry added weight given the uneven chemistry between the two. Sanders is already the third quarterback Jeudy has worked with this season, and the connection has been forged almost entirely on game days. Sanders took over without first-team reps, forcing trust to develop under live fire.
Sanders’ “work in progress”
“It’s always going to be a work in progress,” Sanders said. “All relationships ain’t always the best, but you still stick together through everything.”

That perspective may be exactly what Sanders needs against Buffalo. The Bills thrive on forcing mistakes underneath, but they are far less comfortable when quarterbacks stretch the field. Even in the Bears loss, Sanders showed that part of his game, hitting multiple deep throws in brutal conditions, something Jeudy also highlighted.
“It opens up the offense a lot more just having defenders not sitting on our route,” he said. “They have to worry about the deep balls now.”
One week earlier, Sanders threw for more than 300 yards and accounted for four touchdowns. Now Sunday is about proving that one bad day at the office does not define who he is.
