Touchdown!: The Super Bowl's tastiest dishes
Super Bowl Sunday ranks as the second largest food consumption day in the U.S., trailing only behind Thanksgiving.

An estimated 80% of planned consumer purchases for Super Bowl Sunday are for food and beverages. In 2023, American consumers spent an average of $85 per person on food and drinks for the biggest game day.

Snacks are the perfect accompaniment for every touchdown, with 70% of North American viewers preferring to indulge in some form of snack while watching the game. After snacks, viewers preferences lean to appetizers, desserts, and beverages.

Pizza is the nations favorite Super Bowl dish, with one in seven Americans placing a delivery order on game Sunday, equating to around 13 million boxes of pizza. Chicken, whether as wings or other, takes the second spot in consumption.
The National Chicken Council (NCC) estimates that Americans devour over 100 million pounds of wings during the Super Bowl, amounting to 1.23 billion individual wings. Over half of consumers prefer to dip their wings in ranch, marking it the most popular dressing.

Other favored dipping snacks include potato chips, vegetables, and pretzels. On game day, more than 5 million kilograms of potato chips, 3.6 million kilograms of tortilla chips, and 1.8 million kilograms of pretzels are consumed.

Guacamole is the preferred dip among Americans, with Mexican avocados stealing the spotlight in sales. In 2023, Mexico shipped over 132,000 tonnes of avocados to the U.S. for the Super Bowl.

Burgers also feature prominently. Super Bowl Sunday is the second most popular day for barbecues in the U.S., after Independence Day (July 4th), with over 14 billion burgers consumed nationwide.

As for beverages, beer remains the quintessential drink for the Super Bowls, followed by sodas. Modelo Especial currently holds the title for the best-selling beer brand in the U.S., with Bud Light in second place.

For fans attending the game itself at the Allegiant Stadium, a wide range of culinary options is available. The 'Death Star' is rated as the fourth NFL stadium with the best culinary experiences, scoring 7.35 out of 10.
The variety of alcoholic beverages includes beer, wine, and cocktails, while non-alcoholic options feature sodas, water, coffee, tea, and Powerade. The food offerings are diverse, with gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options, along with traditional alternatives like barbecue, burgers, hot dogs, and even gourmet tacos.

Fuku Burger is the stadium's most popular choice, with its classic burger topped with wasabi mayonnaise being a must-try. Other favorites include Mexican BBQ, Neon Dogs hot dogs, and Sweet & Boozy ice cream. Check out the full options.
