Travis Hunter is dominating camp...so why hasn’t Jacksonville paid him yet?

So far, he’s made quite the case for himself, impressing the Jags in OTAs with his elite performance at both positions. But with his unique talent comes a unique contract that reflects his rare status as a true two-way player.
Travis Hunter only unsigned top-10 rookie
Hunter’s performances on the field so far have proven that he’s worth the hype, but a contract still hasn’t been signed, making Hunter the only remaining top-10 pick who hasn’t signed a rookie deal. In fact, he’s one of just four rookies who haven’t signed a deal at all (joining Bengals defensive end Shemar Stewart, Broncos cornerback Jahdae Barron, and Bills cornerback Maxwell Hairston).
Despite the uncertainty, the Jaguars seem to be willing to let Hunter play at both positions. It will be a gamble, but it could pay off - as long as the negotiations end before training camp begins.
The pressure is on for Jacksonville to make it official and avoid alienating their future generational talent before he ever even plays a down.
