Tush Push debate: Jason Kelce mocks Packers’s proposal “I would want to ban it too if we sucked at it”
No play has been more effective for the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles than the Tush Push, but there is at least one team looking to ban it.

No team has been able to stop the Philadelphia Eagles Tush Push since it’s creation a few years ago. Now one team is trying to stop it, but not while on the field.
Green Bay looking for ban
The Philadelphia Eagles are fresh off their Super Bowl win, and teams are already coming after them. The Green Bay Packers are reported to have petitioned to the NFL the banning of the Eagles most effective play.
News of the petition came out after the Super Bowl, and in their ‘New Heights’ podcast, the Kelce brothers took aim at the Packers' GM Brian Gutenkunst.

Eagles beat Green Bay in the first round of the playoffs in January 2025 with a 22-10 Wild Card win, in which the Eagles ran the Tush Push just once. It came on a 4th and 1 early in the 4th quarter. Hurts converted it, Philly kicked a field goal to go up two scores and the rest is history.
Hurts league leader in rushing TDs
The Tush Push has worked with remarkable success for the Eagles over the last few years. It’s coach Nick Sirianni’s secret weapon on short yardage situations, but it’s not too unlike the quarterback sneak that everyone else in the league runs.
Philly squeezes their lineman together, lines up a couple of of backs or tight ends in the backfield and escort QB Jalen Hurts over the line to gain, or goal line. Many have tried to imitate the play, no one has been able to duplicate it’s success.

Jason Kelce got heated when talking about the play because he was one of the main pieces of the puzzle playing center for the Eagles. “I don’t whats more of a football play,“ he said. What represents football? Physicality, toughness, will.”
He understand teams want to ban it because they’re not good enough to run it, “I would want to ban it too if we sucked at it,” he said. He also admitted it’s not a fun play to watch, defend against or even run for the Eagles, “Is there an increase chance of you being fatigued and hating your life? Yeah,” he said jokingly with brother Travis laughing along.
