LA Rams tight end Tyler Higbee has been ruled out of the Wild Card game against the Minnesota Vikings after suffering a chest injury on Monday evening.

Higbee was taken from the field in the second quarter and was not able to return. His absence will be a blow for the Rams after making an impressive start to the game, leading with field with 58 receiving yards at the time of his exit.

The medical team appeared eager to give him time to recover but shortly after the halftime break it was reported that Higbee had been ruled out with a chest contusion, ending his involvement in the game.

The Rams were forced to move away from Los Angeles for Monday’s Wild Card clash, a result of the LA wildfires that continue to affect tens of thousands of residents. The Arizona Cardinals' State Farm Stadium was offered as an alternative venue by team ownership and preparations were hastily made.

Players, coaches, staff and fans have made the 700-mile trip from LA to Greendale, Arizona for the game. For both teams, this season represents a real chance to challenge for a championship after an impressive regular season showing.
