Tyreek Hill stuns NFL with latest Miami Dolphins comments
The wide receiver announced that he wanted to leave after a drab 2024 performance from the team.

One month on from deciding to sit out the Miami Dolphins' final game of the season, it looks like Tyreek Hill has had a major rethink on his career direction.
The wide receiver pulled himself from the Week 18 game against the New York Jets after the Dolphins were mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. After the crucial Week 17 loss that confirmed their fate, Hill sounded pretty unequivocal about his future.
“I’m out, bruh,” Hill told reporters. “It was great playing here, but at the end of the day, I have to do what’s best for my career.”
However on Friday he made a full reversal during a conversation with Kay Adams on the ‘Up & Adams Show’. Hill said: “I don’t want to go nowhere. I love [Miami], my family loves it.”
He continued: “It’s an amazing thing, man. We are really building something special in Miami. We made it to the playoffs the first two years. Obviously, this year was hard. If guys continue to buy in, to what coach is building and the culture that he’s trying to build, it’s going to be an amazing thing.”
What is Tyreek Hill’s salary with the Dolphins?
Tyreek Hill was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He went on to establish himself as a star with the Chiefs and was a key part of the team that won Super LIV.
However in 2022 he was tempted away from Arrowhead Stadium when the Miami Dolphins offered him a mammoth $120 million four-year extension on his existing Chiefs deal. That deal - with $72.2 million in guaranteed money - made him the top-earning WR in the NFL.
He starred during his first two years in Miami, finishing as the league’s receiving yards leader for 2023 and winning back-to-back First team Pro Bowl selections. Hill’s time in Miami seemed to be over after those bold comments in late 2024 but the 30-year-old looks set to stay in Florida.
Hill seemed genuinely remorseful during during his interview with Kay Adams. He even went as far as issuing a public apology to Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa for refusing to play.
“Tua, he’s my guy - always will be, no matter what,” Hill explained. “I’m sure he understands my frustration, we all want to win... I’m looking forward to just us continuing to build our relationship - and this is my public apology to you, Tua. I love you bro.”
