Update:

The Carolina Panthers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers had just started their Sunday game when an unfortunate incident occurred. The Panthers went three and out on their first possession, but that’s not what I’m referring to.

Just after that, umpire Carl Paganelli collided with one of the Buccaneer players.

What happened to the official of the Buc-Panthers game?

Paganelli was trying to catch a ball that was being thrown from the sideline and while he was doing so, he bumped into a Tampa Bay player and was knocked over.

He stayed down on the field for a while, holding his lower leg. He was later carted off the field.

Fortunately, he seems to be doing okay after the hit, but the game will be short an official without Paganelli.
