Was this the moment Aaron Rodgers said his goodbye to the NFL?
Houston showed no mercy to the Steelers and sealed their fate in these Playoffs, as the end of an era may have arrived.

Contrary to the opening games of these playoffs, the final two contests were decided by narrow margins and dominated by defense. Houston defeated Pittsburgh in the AFC Wild Card and, fittingly, did so thanks to the unit that carried the team throughout the regular season.
With four sacks of Aaron Rodgers, one interception and two forced fumbles – one of them returned for a touchdown – the Texans pulled away from the Steelers without too much trouble down the stretch, winning 30-6. The result sends Houston Texans into the Divisional Round with their sights firmly set on the New England Patriots.

Is this goodbye for Rodgers and Tomlin?
In recent days, speculation has grown around the possibility that this was the final chapter for Mike Tomlin as head coach of the Steelers, as well as the last ride for Rodgers under center. The quarterback is rumored to be considering retirement at the end of the season. The sense that a generation is nearing its end is unmistakable, and only time will provide the answers.
There is also the possibility that Rodgers could extend his career for one more year, potentially with another team. That decision would require a deep personal reckoning. There would be no shortage of suitors, but everything would have to be weighed carefully – from the receiving corps and offensive line to, of course, the guarantee of being the starter. Nothing about the choice will be simple.

What is undeniable is that Houston followed the defensive blueprint to perfection against one of the league’s best quarterbacks of the past 15 years. Rodgers was overwhelmed by a relentless pass rush and made it clear that, while his arm talent remains intact, his body may finally be asking for rest.
With the possibility of extending his stay for another year (with another team), Rodgers’ future would require some serious reflection. There will be teams vying for his services, but it will be a matter of carefully analyzing the variables (from the receiving corps and the offensive line to, of course, securing a starting position).
What is certain is that Houston played textbook defense against one of the best quarterbacks of the last 15 years. Rodgers was overwhelmed by a blistering defense and made it clear that while he still has a very good arm, his body is demanding a rest.
