If you’ve been following, the third-round pick in the 2022 draft, was shot in the leg on August 28th, when two individuals attempted to rob him while he was getting something to eat in D.C.’s H Street Corridor. Though he actually managed to fight one of the men off, the second of them shot Robinson in his leg two times. After he was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, the Commanders’ player underwent surgery the very next day. Sadly, the ordeal actually delayed the rookie’s debut in the NFL. On the other hand, Robinson’s recovery was nothing short of incredible. Just two weeks later, the running back was back in practice and participating in drills. Indeed, 42 days after being shot, Robins got his first taste of NFL football in Week 5 and then four days later, scored his first touchdown on “Thursday Night Football.” Like we said, incredible.

Fittingly, the man himself was well aware of the quick turnaround, following an event that cast considerable doubt over whether he would ever play again. Earlier this month, Robinson alluded to what he faced. “That was probably the lowest point I’ve ever been in my life. ...My passion for this game runs so deep. I never thought I’d be in a situation where I had to question or be questioned about if I could return to playing football. Once the doctors told me I’d be able to play ball again, my mind automatically clicked into what I needed to do to get myself back on the football field.”
