Arguably the best team all year, the Philadelphia Eagles will now battle it out with the Kansas City Chiefs for the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Having recently unveiled a new uniform, they’ve ensured that no matter what they do, they’ll look good doing it.

Eagles unveil new uniform for Super Bowl LVII

According to an official team release, the Philadelphia Eagles will be sporting a new uniform when they take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The Eagles of course, have been designated as the “home” team for the big game, meaning they have the privilege of selecting what uniform they will wear on Sunday 12th, February. On Tuesday, the team unveiled its new selection in a video which showed a “Super Bowl LVII” patch being stitched onto their midnight green jerseys.

The video was also accompanied by a set of images in which the jerseys can be seen being prepared for shipment to Arizona. Fans will know, that green jerseys are in fact the team’s traditional uniform and incidentally, the same jerseys that the Eagles have worn in each of their three previous Super Bowl appearances. If you’re superstitious, the midnight green jerseys were the same ones they wore when they defeated the Patriots in Super Bowl LII back in 2017. There has been no official word on what pants Philly will wear, but white has always been the order of the day in the past.

What color will the Chiefs wear?

With the Eagles sporting their home color, the Chiefs will be wearing the “visitor’s” jersey which in their case is white. Incidentally, the Chiefs also unveiled their selection in a video in which star quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, can be seen sporting the jersey. Again, with the superstition. The Chiefs have worn red in each of their past three Super Bowl appearances. Where their record is concerned, the Chiefs are 2-1 in red, however, if we get statistically superstitious, the team in white has won 36 of the 56 Super Bowls that have been played. Is the color you play in, the difference maker in the Super Bowl? Hardly, it’s about details, it’s not so black and white.
