The NFL has seen many great quarterback rivalries, and the one between Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs and Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals is quickly becoming one of the most exciting. As of their latest encounter where the Chiefs bested the Bengals 25-26, Burrow holds a slight edge with a 3-2 record against Mahomes.

The rivalry that makes us think of Brady and Manning

Their first meeting on January 2, 2022, set the tone for their rivalry. The Bengals edged out the Chiefs in a thrilling 34-31 victory. This was followed by another close game in the AFC Championship on January 30, 2022, where Burrow once again led the Bengals to a 27-24 win, securing their spot in the Super Bowl.

The 2022 regular season saw another nail-biter on December 4, with the Bengals winning 27-24. However, Mahomes and the Chiefs got their revenge in the AFC Championship on January 29, 2023, with a 23-20 victory, propelling them to the Super Bowl, which they eventually won.

Their most recent clash on September 15, 2024, was yet another close contest. The Chiefs managed to eke out a 26-25 victory, showcasing the high level of competition and skill both quarterbacks bring to the field.
