What teams will play in the NFL’s first game in Berlin?
While fans are yet to learn who will be the visiting team, they have now been notified as to who will play at home in what will be Berlin’s first NFL game.

As the league continues to expand its international reach, football fans in Europe can now look forward to what will be the first game played in the German capital. The only question that remains is whether the Indianapolis Colts and their yet-to-be-announced opponent can put on the show that they deserve.
The Colts will be the home team in Berlin
According to reports, the Indianapolis Colts will be the home team when the NFL heads to Berlin, Germany for the city’s first-ever NFL game. As for the specific location, it is understood that the Colts will be on hosting duty at Berlin’s Olympic stadium or as it is pronounced in German, Olympiastadion. With Adolf Hitler in attendance, the venue famously hosted the 1936 Olympics and received a record attendance of more than 100,000 people. It remains the largest stadium in Germany to this day.
It’s worth noting that the announcement comes just days after the NFL announced that the NFL announced the Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars, and New York Jets will be the host teams for the NFL’s yearly games in London. Additionally, there will also be a 2025 regular-season game played in Madrid, Spain, for the first time.
Incidentally, this will be the third time that the Colts have played an international game in recent years, and the team’s second in Germany. In 2016, they were the designated away team against the Jacksonville Jaguars for a game in London at Wembley Stadium. That matchup was followed by a clash with the New England Patriots in 2023 when they played at the Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfort.
Regarding who the Colts will face in Berlin, there has been no official word as yet, however, what we do know is that the Colts have home games in 2025 scheduled against the Texans, Jaguars, Titans, Broncos, Raiders, Cardinals, 49ers, Dolphins, and Falcons which is to say it will be one among them who faces off against the Colts in Germany.
