Quarterback Drew Lock is in the frame to start for the New York Giants this evening, with Tommy DeVito a major doubt for the team’s Thanksgiving clash with the Dallas Cowboys.

What injury does DeVito have?

The Giants have listed DeVito as ‘questionable’ for the Week 13 match-up, after the 26-year-old suffered an arm injury in last Sunday’s defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. ESPN’s Jordan Raanan has reported that DeVito is a “long shot” to play against the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium, where the 2-9 Giants will bid to end a six-game losing streak.

DeVito was himself only promoted to starting QB last weekend, in the wake of Daniel Jones’ departure from the franchise.

Speaking to reporters ahead of the Giants’ trip to Texas, Lock said he’s always primed to step into Brian Daboll’s team. “It’s just typical of the job right?” the 28-year-old said. “You’ve always got to be ready, no matter what the week, whatever the situation is. You’re just planning like you’re going to go out there and play. My mindset didn’t change this week."

What are Lock’s NFL stats?

Signed by the Giants in March, Lock is in line to make his first start for the franchise, and only his third start in the last three seasons. A second-round Draft pick for the Denver Broncos in 2019, the former Missouri Tigers star has made 23 career starts in his six-year NFL career, 21 of which came across his three seasons with the Broncos. He then made two starts for the Seattle Seahawks in 2023, before signing a one-year deal with the Giants.

Currently 9-14 as a starter in the NFL, Lock has thrown for 5,292 yards, 28 touchdowns and 23 interceptions in his total of 31 appearances in the US’s elite football league. He has an average passer rating of 79.1.

How much does Lock earn?

Per sport finance experts Spotrac, Lock’s one-year Giants contract is worth $5 million, with $4.95 million guaranteed. On top of a $2 million signing bonus, he has a base salary of $2.95 million.
