Why are NFL coaches and sideline staff wearing camo hoodies? Significance of the green sweatshirts

During November, NFL coaches and players will be sporting special camouflage-print hoodies, as part of the league’s annual ‘Salute to Service’ initiative.
Organized around Veterans Day on Nov. 11, Salute to Service is a tribute to the U.S. military. Established in 2011, the campaign “represents the NFL’s unwavering dedication to honoring, empowering, and connecting with our nation’s service members, veterans, and their families,” the league says.

How much money has Salute to Service raised?
In the 14 years since its creation, Salute to Service has earned more than $75 million through fundraising efforts in partnership with the Bob Woodruff Foundation, Pat Tillman Foundation, Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors, United Service Organizations and Wounded Warrior Project.
Among the ways in which Salute to Service raises money is by selling the special-edition apparel that NFL coaches and players can be seen wearing during November. You can purchase these items via the NFL’s online store.
