Why Pat McAfee is skipping NFL Draft coverage: A scouting combine clash sparks controversy
Sports analyst Pat McAfee has decided to pull his show from covering the upcoming NFL Draft live in Green Bay, citing a “lack of respect” at the Combine.

The Pat McAfee Show will no longer be covering the NFL Draft live from Green Bay, Wisconsin in April, as the host experienced a bit of friction with some “middle managers” at the NFL Combine last week.
McAfee explains his issue with NFL managers
McAfee expressed his frustration over the inadequate planning and logistics surrounding his show’s broadcast space at Lucas Oil Stadium, where the NFL Scouting Combine was held in Indianapolis. He shared photos of himself measuring the areas in the stadium to “make sure there’s enough space in the stadium for our show”.

“Someone at that middle level who has power wanted to flex the fact that they have power, I think,” said McAfee. “Created some problems, obviously. ‘I’m going to have to sign off on this. You can’t do this; you can’t do that. This is what I’m saying yada yada.’ All bulls**t.”
“Hoops were made for us to jump through for no reason because I think I’m younger than these people. So they think they can, you know. I don’t think they get it,” McAfee went on. “Draft was [going] to be the same thing. Where they were going to put us, allegedly. How it was going to go, what we’re going to have to do. Flexing power while also showing disdain for me and my show and my guys all at the same time. While we have a relationship with the actual league, I think. With that being said, I don’t want to play their games.”
Front Office Sports had reported that McAfee wouldn’t be attending the draft to cover it due to “insufficient respect”, a wording which McAfee took issue with for some reason. He clarified in a video post that he never used those words, but that there was definitely a “lack of respect”, which is...pretty much the same thing.

Either way, McAfee will NOT be providing live draft coverage from Green Bay, but he WILL be covering the draft in his show - remotely, from his studio in Indianapolis.
