Will Davante Adams play against the Falcons in Week 17 MNF? Rams WR’s injury status
Having missed the Rams’ crunch clash with the Seahawks, Adams is “champing at the bit” to return, says Los Angeles’ head coach.

It seems probable that Davante Adams will miss the Los Angeles Rams’ Monday Night Football matchup with the Atlanta Falcons, as the veteran wide receiver recovers from a hamstring injury.
Adams, who has been unable to practice in the buildup to the Week 17 clash in Georgia, is listed as “doubtful” on the Rams’ official injury report, having sat out Week 16’s 38-37 defeat to division rivals the Seattle Seahawks.
Adams “less likely” to face Falcons
Speaking on Saturday, Los Angeles head coach Sean McVay said Adams is “doing great”, but added that the 33-year-old is “less likely” to play against the Falcons than other individuals whose fitness is in doubt.
“He’s making really good progress, he’s champing at the bit to be able to get back out there,” McVay said. “We know how special of a player he is, how special of a leader.”
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, McVay had already said after the Seattle game on Dec. 18 that he didn’t expect Adams to be back against the Falcons.
“I love this guy”
The Rams head into Week 17 having relinquished the NFC’s No. 1 seed in the overtime defeat to the Seahawks - as well as top spot in the NFC West. Indeed, in the wake of wins for Seattle and the San Francisco 49ers this weekend, Los Angeles is now out of contention for the division title.
But despite the costly loss to Seattle, McVay praised Adams’ off-the-field impact on his colleagues in the Week 16 matchup. “I love this guy,” the head coach said. “I love everything he’s about and I love the way he’s handled [the injury].
“Nobody wants to be out there more than him, but if you saw his game-day demeanour during the Seahawks game, and the way he was uplifting and elevating, I think he should take a ton of pride in the way that that group played as a whole, because of a lot of the leadership that comes from him.”
McVay concluded: “He’s a great competitor, he’s a great person, and we’ll be in good shape when we get him back, whether that’s this week or next week, or with the playoffs.”
