Update:

Star quarterback Josh Allen is expected to start the Buffalo Bills’ Sunday Night Football matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles, despite picking up a foot injury in last weekend’s win over the Cleveland Browns.

A player who has not missed a regular-season game since 2018, Allen was a limited participant in Buffalo practice earlier this week, but was able to take part in the team’s full pregame session on Friday.

“Should be good to go”

Speaking on the day of Allen’s return to full practice, Bills head coach Sean McDermott said the QB “should be good to go” against Philadelphia. “The soreness has kind of dissipated day to day as we move through the week here, so he should be in a good spot,” McDermott told reporters.

In a news conference on Tuesday, Allen himself had said he expected to be “ready to go” for the Eagles clash. “[I am] planning on playing,” the 29-year-old declared.

The reigning NFL MVP, Allen has thrown for 3,406 yards, 25 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 2025, with an average passer rating of 103.3. He has also registered 552 rushing yards for 12 touchdowns.

Can Bills stay in hunt for division crown?

Having clinched a seventh straight playoff berth in Week 16, the 11-4 Bills remain in contention for the AFC East title. However, the 12-3 Patriots are in pole position - and could seal the division championship this weekend.

If New England beats the Jets earlier on Sunday, the Bills must earn victory over the Eagles to keep the AFC East title race alive; if the Patriots tie with New York, Buffalo must avoid defeat.

Meanwhile, Philadelphia heads into Week 17 having already made sure of the NFC East title, as Nick Sirianni’s men chase a second consecutive NFL championship.
