Undisputed light middleweight champion stepping up two weight classes to take on the undisputed super middleweight champion is always going to be a mega fight. When one of those champions is the legendary Mexican fighter Saul “Canelo” Álvarez, then the stakes get a whole lot bigger.

The only way that this could get any more epic would be to stage the battle in the mecca of boxing, Las Vegas. Oh wait, it already is...

Fight week is a holy institution for disciples of the sweet science. Media workouts, press conferences, and the weigh in give the public a chance to get up close and personal with their pugilistic heroes.

Today sees the grinding train toward fight night get close to the finish as the final news conference will see Canelo Alvarez, Jermell Charlo, Jesus Ramos, and Erickson Lubin take questions and verbally spar as they have their last say before scores are settled. While this event is not open to the general public, it will be in the MGM Grand Hotel, giving fans an opportunity to do some celebrity sightings in the lobby.

Tomorrow, Friday, September 29 will see T-Mobile Arena’s Toshiba Plaza play host to the ceremonial weigh in, which will indeed be open to the public.

Both of these events will be live streamed on Showtime Sports YouTube Channel, app, and Facebook page while UK and Irish audiences can see it all live on DAZN. Thursday’s press conference begins at 3 pm ET / 12 pm PT and on Friday the weigh in will be live from 12:30 pm ET / 3:30 pm PT.

It really is getting hot in here!
