Fury wants no rematch clause against Usyk

The Gipsy King’s last demand for his megafight against Oleksandr Usyk to be a reality is that both fighters face each other only once.

Update:
The Gipsy King’s last demand for his megafight against Oleksandr Usyk to be a reality is that both fighters face each other only once.

The mega bout between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk seems closer to being a done deal than ever, but the Brit has one last demand.

The Gipsy King wants no rematch clause in the contract for their potential April 29th showdown, and that’s what he has made everyone know in another short video posted on social media.

After apparently having things his way about the 70/30 purse in his favor after Usyk said he accepted Fury’s terms, the WBC heavyweight champion uploaded another video saying that they will be fighting only once.

Fury’s crystal clear message

“I’ve been speaking to the lawyers today, and Usyk’s people are talking about rematch clauses and all that bollocks. Here’s one to up the ante, how about there is no f*****g rematch clause! For both of us”, he said. “Let’s up the ante completely. Never worry about what’s in the future and how many more dollars you can get after you’ve been defeated. Worry about the fight, April 29th”, Fury added.

Fury not wanting a possible rematch against one of the fiercest rivals in his career seems a strange decision, especially considering that the clash could end up having a controversial decision or being a very close hard-fought battle.

The other option is that Tyson may want to have his final fight and walk away from the sport in great fashion if he comes out on top against The Cat.

Fury last defeated Derek Chisora in their trilogy fight via TKO in the 10th round last December, while Usyk, a former undisputed cruiserweight, defeated Anthony Joshua for a second time via split decision in August.
