George Kambosos Jr.’s record in his professional boxing career: Wins, losses, knockouts, titles

The Aussie fighter will try to pull off another big upset in his career when he takes on Vasiliy Lomachenko in Perth.

Update:
The Aussie fighter will try to pull off another big upset in his career when he takes on Vasiliy Lomachenko in Perth.

George Kambosos Jr. will return to the ring this weekend in one of the most important fights of his career. The Australian fighter will try to make history again by defeating the favorite Vasiliy Lomachenko at RAC Arena, in Perth, Australia.

The Sydney native believes he has what it takes to defeat the two-time Olympic gold medalist when both men meet in the ring on Saturday night.

“So let me be clear. I’m not just here to fight Vasiliy Lomachenko. I’m here to beat Vasiliy Lomachenko, I’m here to retire Vasiliy Lomachenko … I’m here to end Vasiliy Lomachenko. And I believe with everything that I have, I can be the first person to knock out Vasiliy Lomachenko”, he stated.

The Ferocious, known for his energetic, all-action fighting style, will fight again after defeating Maxi Hughes by a controversial points win in July 2023 and winning the IBO lightweight belt.

Lopez and Haney, Kambosos Jr.’s most important fights

Kambosos Jr. has fought 23 times as a professional, winning 21 fights and losing two. Out of his 21 victories, 10 have been via KO.

Without a doubt, his best performance took place in 2020, when he shocked the boxing world by defeating the massive favorite Teofimo Lopez. That victory saw him win the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and The Ring lightweight titles.

However, his glory days didn’t last too long, as a few months later he lost all his titles to Devin Haney. Kambosos put all his belts on the line to fight for Haney’s WBC belt and become the undisputed lightweight king, but things didn’t go his way. The Dream outpointed the Australian warrior at Docklands Stadium, in Melbourne, setting a rematch after an exciting first clash between both men.

However, their second fight played out similarly to the first one. The Dream was the superior fighter and defended his undisputed status by outpointing Kambosos Jr. again-

Now, the former lightweight champion will face another star in Lomachenko for the vacant IBF lightweight title.
