How much prize money does the winner get at the 2025 Hero World Challenge?
The 2025 Hero World Challenge, hosted by Tiger Woods, gets underway on Thursday (Dec. 4), with world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler once again coming out on top in 20-man field at Albany Golf Course in The Bahamas.
Although the Hero World Challenge is sanctioned by the PGA Tour, it doesn’t formally recognise the winner, and the tournament doesn’t carry FedEx Cup points or official money.
The 2025 PGA Tour season officially ended at the RSM Classic on Nov. 23, although this week’s event will give us the opportunity to see several of the world’s top stars in action for the first time since the Ryder Cup in September.

Scheffler dominates at Hero World Challenge
Scottie Scheffler is looking to three-peat at the Hero World Challenge after winning in 2023 and 2024. He’s the bookies’ favorite, but you never know in golf. We haven’t seen the World No. 1 play for two months so all eyes will be on Scheffler to see if he has the same form that put him on the top of the world ranking.
2025 Hero World Challenge prize money
In 2025, the winner will be taking home $1 million of the $5 million total prize purse.
The $5 million purse isn’t huge, but it is distributed nicely between the 20 players, who are more than likely trying to figure out where their games are at before the 2026 season while spending some nice time with the families between Thanksgiving and Christmas in a beautiful location.
